OMGNEWSHUB.COM SPORT reviews the EPL’s round of 22. It was indeed goals aplenty and goal-rush with Chelsea and Everton sharing the spoils and Manchester City’s Aguero helping himself to a brace in the routing of Crystal Palace.
West Ham however lost their first game in ten matches as Jonjo Shelvey proved an astute signing by helping his team in the victory.
Spurs came from a goal down to convincingly beat Sunderland. Southampton on the other hand got their mojo back with Ward-Prowse getting a brace.

Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 Sunderland
Spurs came from behind to eventually win comfortably. Tottenham retain their place in fourth and increase their chance of qualifying for the Champion’s league and well placed to win the EPL title if the leaders falter.
Patrick van Aanholt grabbed the lead for Sunderland in the 40th minute when he converted a sublime through ball from Adam Johnson.
Christian Eriksen swiftly replied two minutes later by pouncing on Harry Kane’s rebounded effort.
Dembele scored in the 60th minute to fire the host ahead with Eriksen’s brace coming soon after, courtesy of his deflected shot before Harry Kane sealed the rout from the penalty spot to leave Sunderland second bottom.

Chelsea 3-3 Everton
The home side started the brighter of the two and forced Tim Howard to a couple of good saves earlier on but Everton responded with some good passage of play of their own to force a fine save from the Chelsea goalkeeper towards the end of the half.
The second half was pulsating with Everton going ahead from a John Terry own goal after a tenacious attacking play by Lukaku. The lead was doubled with a superb half-volley strike by Kevin Mirallas.
Chelsea stepped it up and reduced the deficit when Diego Costa took advantage of a mix-up in the Everton defence to slot home before Cesc Fabregas’s deflected cross leveled the scoring.
Everton went ahead again in this terrific match in extra time when Deulofeu’s sumptuous cross was headed home by Ramiro Funes Mori to send the away team and their fans into raptures.
John Terry had the final say by scoring with a deft flick to even the match and make amend for his own goal to save Chelsea’s bluches.

Manchester City 4-0 Crystal Palace
Sergio Aguero scored a brace in this rout – the biggest loss in Alan Pardew era at Crystal Palace. Fabian Delph opened the scoring as city got back to goal scoring form after the stalemate against Everton on Wednesday.
Aguero added the second before the break and made it three for the Etihad outfits in the 68th minute, he could have scored a hat-trick but selflessly passed it up to lay it on a plate for Sylva to complete the route, Palace are now without a win or a goal in five games.
Georginio Wijnaldum scores his ninth goal of the season for Newcastle
Newcastle 2-1 West ham
Jonjo Shelvey paid back a huge chunk of his transfer fee with a superb all-round performance.
His 50 yard cross-field pass that led to the second goal by Georginio Wijnaldum is a potential winner as the pass of the season ‘delightful’ – condemning the Hammers to their first league defeat in ten games.
The first was a delicious assist for Ayoze Perez to slot home. West Ham came into the match a lot more in the second half and got a goal back when the substitute Nikita Jelavic halved the deficit.

Bournemouth 3 – 0 Norwich
Bournemouth showed no hangover from their home defeat to West Ham on Tuesday to record their biggest win in the EPL in this trashing.
Norwich were woeful throughout with Dan Gosling opening his scoring just ten minutes into the match. Charlie Daniels made it two from the spot shortly after half-time before record signing – Benik Afobe opened his account with a neat finish to record a comfortably win for the home side.
Aston Villa 1 – 1 Leicester
Leicester rues a missed penalty that could have send them top of the EPL with three points rather than one ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal, who faced Stoke on Sunday.
Villa would take a lot of confidence from a dogged and tenacious display despite being rooted to the bottom of the table. Japanese striker Shinji Okazaki opened the scoring in the 28th minute but Leicester failed to increase their lead when awarded a penalty.
Riyad Mahrez spot kick was saved by the Villa goalie before Rudy Gestede equalized in the 75th minute to force a draw.
SUNDAY MATCHES

Liverpool 0 1 Manchester United
Despite playing a more enterprising football, Liverpool were soccer-punched by Rooney’s volley, when Felainin’s header hit the post and fell kindly to him.
A fiery encounter with no quarter given Liverpool driven by the passionate Anfield crowd created better chances and presented united defence with questions to answer with some intricate passing game. United were guilty of sloppy passing at time consequently giving Mignolet no safe to make, before the break.
The old Trafford outfit came out with more gusto in the second half and were much better before Rooney’s smash and grab, making him a player with most goals scored for a premier league club in England.

Stoke 0 – 0 Arsenal
The stalemate does not explain the entertainment on display in this pulsating match. The gunners just shaded the passage of play in the first half with Campbell picking up where he left at Anfield on Wednesday with a couple of good layoffs to Giroud who spurned both chances.
Stoke gave a good account of themselves without making much in-roads before the break. The second half was an end-to-end affairs with Stoke testing and forcing the impressive Petr Cech to make some fine saves twating every Stoke efforts.
Arsenal go back to the top of the league on goals difference from Leicester City with Manchester City a point away in third.
