Retired footballer David Beckham has been honoured by UNICEF for his global charity efforts.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and PSG star was given the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Leadership Award during the UNICEF Ball held on Tuesday, January 15 in Los Angeles.
The 40-year-old soccer player was honoured for his ongoing work with children around the world as well as that which he does through his own charity, Seven.
Beckham said during his acceptance speech: “I am humbled tonight. We live in a world in which children still die of preventable diseases. Children are still being abused.

“I have four children of my own. I will not stop supporting this charity that does so much for so many children around the world.”
Beckham retired from football in 2013 after playing up to 20 years as a top player with clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG, AC Milan and LA Galaxy.
