I’m very happy writing this post. Competition is always good for business I must say

Following the recent review of data plans by biggest telecommunication company in Nigeria, the South Africa-owned MTN (see here). The UAE owned Etisalat has been forced to review their pricing also as you can see below. Although the N1000 and N2000 plans has been placed on same data cap as MTN’s new plans, the other plans are comparatively more (if not very) costly. Here’s a rundown of the plans and pricing…
 Daily Plans 10MB (N100)
 SMS Code: MI1
USSD: *229*3*1#

Weekly Plans 50MB (N500)
 SMS Code: MI2
 USSD: *229*3*4#

 Monthly Plans 1.5GB (N1,000)
SMS Code: AND1
 USSD: *229*2*7#

3.5GB (N2,000)
 SMS Code: AND2
USSD: *229*2*8#

5GB (N6, 500)
SMS Code: MB5
USSD: *229*2*3#

 8GB (N8,000)
 SMS Code: MB6
USSD: *229*2*5#

 10GB (N10,000)
SMS Code: SM1
USSD: *229*4*1#

15GB (N15,000)
 SMS Code: SM2
 USSD: *229*4*2#

20GB (N18,000)
SMS Code: SM3
 USSD: *229*4*3#

 Quarterly (90 days) Plans 30GB (N27,500)
 SMS Code: 4M
 USSD: *229*5*1#

To subscribe, dial the USSD code of the plan or your choice or send the SMS code as a text message to 229. In my opinion, I’d rather go for either the 1k or 2k plan and buy it multiple times than go for any of the higher ones. Better still you can check out the MTN data plans as they have better value for money.
