A representative for the "Ghost Rider" actor, 52, has confirmed to Us Weekly that the pair have been separated since January this year.
Cage and Kim share a 10-year-old son, Kal-el, together.
Cage
had met Kim while she had been working as a waitress at a restaurant in
Los Angeles and after two months of a whirlwind romance, they got
engaged and got married in a romantic affair in Northern California on
July 30, 2004.
Speaking during an interview with The Guardian, about his Korean-born wife back in 2013, Cage said:
“I made a very clear decision to marry out of my own zip code.
"I
mean, way out of my own zip code. I married into another culture, and
it's interesting because in Korea they call me the Son-in-Law."
Cage's separation from Kim marks the beginning of his third divorce, as the Oscar winning actor was previously married to Elvis Presley's daughter, Lisa Marie Presley in 2002, before their split in 2004.
The "National Treasure" actor was married to Patricia Arquette from 1995 until 2001.
Cage is also father to Weston, 25, from an earlier relationship with former model-actress, Christina Fulton.
